Hitch Me!

www.hitchoo.com

That is surely one of the best forms of innovation i have seen coming out of Singapore! Whoever is reading this got to check it out, anoymous dating cards for that gal or guy u had your eyes on but too shy to ask for her no. the mystery, the sense of cheekiness, hey this is my dating card with a headline: "You make my Day"

Hows that for an idea! and not just an idea, but full blown action! its a classic case of "why didn't i think of that" even more so of the fact that i'm single (and available!)

its like sometimes you just want to keep the 1st exchange of eyes, although i think its another different matter having the courage to go up to a gal and pass her a card and just smiling, and well because i'm shy, oh yes i am, especially when you see that attractive girl! but with this card? who knows? haha i mean, its kind of what u see in the movies sometimes, the leading actor chats up with a attractive female lead at either a pub, workplace, park or some other unexpected place, then before you part, you either ask for her number or give her ur number. She stores it in her HP and MIGHT never call u nor even remember you. But now with this card, you can skip the chatting part, pass her the card and i think really think, gives and probably builds up a sense of surprise and perhaps suspense? instead of a number, its my username and some special password. Its definitely more prominent than a number among 100 others in her hp! defintely helps to keep the impression going! and then if she logs in, she can see the profile stored on the website, and mind you, they do give you plenty of stuff that you can enter about yourselves, e.g. your interests and the things you like.

Talk about SDU and their not so long ago annoncement that they are closing down and leaving the dating scene to asipring entreprenurs or rather i say professional matchmakers in the market that could come up with more innovative ideas, one other is lunchactually, where strangers go on a lunch blind date.

Ok i think i sound pretty desperate but hey, i did sign up, it sounds fun although it might work out entirely different to what i have described above (which now seems to me the very "ideal" scenario) but well, no harm trying, the 1st 8 cards are free so thats a buffer for me i guess? well until i receive the cards in my mailbox, time to start thinking who to bump into! hahaha....

Transformers Roll Out!

I just cannot contain my excitement and anticipation when i saw the transformers trailers on youtube, 2 of which i have posted. I mean which kid, ok i mean the kid of me growing up in the 80s and early 90s, and of my generation doesn't watch Transformers??

They were perhaps the next biggest thing to X-Men!! or even bigger! The X-Men trilogy was good, it certainly brought some fresh life to the cartoon, not just pure nostalgia. But transformers is another different story. It had a much greater impact on me and i'm pretty certain on many others of my generation too! Kids are always fascinated by new things and cartoons are one of the best ways to introduce them. On top of Teenage mutant ninja turtles, captain america, spiderman and other cartoons, transformers blows my mind! now that i think and see in perspective as compared to the rest. I mean, in those days, you see robots? i don't even know they are robots! but just something so fascinating! throw in the classic evil vs good storyline and Bam! itched in memory forever.

Watching the trailers is like unlocking the memories stored in some hidden section of my brain. Kind of a dormant volcano erupting! and that my friend told me that it will be released in late June and not July as the trailer mentioned, makes the impending eruption even stronger! The trailers do an excellent job of building up the anticipation, excitement, eagerness and many other stuff. Talk about marketing, i think Movie marketing is truly awesome, at its best though!

Would it be a massive hit like spiderman, x-men? well i believe it will at least equal them, i wouldn't be surprised if it exceeds! well enough for now, back to drooling over the trailers!

Soccer and a HP

Its been half a month since i last made an entry. And slightly longer than that since i moved out of Hall 7. I actually have quite a no of stuff to blog about, but perhaps i did not make enough effort to spend time to write about them. So for starters, something that happened only 2 days ago.

So how is a HP related to soccer? well on Thursday, Kuan Yew and I met up at a street soccer court(otherwise known as a Fulsal court) beside my HDB block. We were pretty much enjoying ourselves playing with other people there but sadly...after our match ended, KY discovered that his HP went missing. we searched his bag, the vicinity, his car but to no avail. Asked the people around if they noticed anything suspicious but nothing.

so is it stolen or lost? i think the former is more likely but alas, the hp was already switched off when i called it. So KY's relatively new hp is gone...haiz and i actually feel quite bad, after all it happened in my neighbourhood..but i'm powerless to do anything. Out of my control? perhaps...i do not play at the court often, ever since army and uni days. Not even JC as i was perhaps more active in Badminton back then. So i'm not very familiar with the people.

A common game of soccer can bring people together but such things can happen. Well i guess its a lesson learnt, i told KY if he does want to come again, its best to leave his important valuables in his car or maybe can even leave it at my place. A good game of soccer saddened by this. Still, got to move on, hopefully KY can get a job soon so that the paycheck would somehow lessen the blow?

well thats it for now, its lunch before i head to my cousin's cafe to work, which i have been helping out for the past couple of weeks. Its the Singapore Art Cafe at Esplanade, level 3, inside the library. A very nice, quiet place to seat, chil, chat and hang out! I'll talk more abt it another time.

Laters!
